At GameSpec, we've created a social space for neurodiverse individuals to escape isolation and misunderstanding while being supported to enjoy their specialised interests.
At GameSpec, we've created a social space for neurodivergent individuals to escape isolation and misunderstanding while being supported to enjoy their specialised interests.
We are an NDIS social support provider located in Greenslopes, Brisbane, for teens, young adults and young at heart.
We provide 1:1 peer social participation support, assisting people to engage socially in a sensory-friendly and calm environment that we have created. Accessing our
exclusive space is a bonus to working
with our support workers.
The GameSpec environment is focused around the special interest of all types of gaming - we provide computer gaming, table top RPG's (D&D), board games, Lego, collectibles, Pokémon, Warhammer painting and facilitate group outings and special events.
We embrace all identities and are dedicated to making people feel welcome and safe. Everyone can be themselves at GameSpec.
ABOUT US
GameSpec is a space that we are passionate about developing, due to a lack of Autism-friendly places in the community that meet the sensory needs that Autistic people commonly have.
Everyone has different social goals. GameSpec is a place where you will be supported and don't need to explain your differences. We wanted to create a safe space for connection, friendships, and cultivate a feeling of belonging.
Our team is made up of people with lived experience of Autism and ADHD, carers of those with Autism and ADHD, and also people who are massive gaming nerds that just want to share that joy with others.
Nothing short of a neurodivergent sanctuary. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Oh, and it's exclusive to people on NDIS, so you know that you'll be in a safe place with people like you! "You already know I'm obsessed with it. I can't get enough."
Super amazing, super friendly almost feels like home
I have found GameSpec my new favourite place to attend. It is the first place I have been to where I felt welcomed and accepted, just the way I am, an older person who has Autism.
Get in touch and one of our friendly team will be in contact shortly.
Thank you for contacting us.
A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
Have a great day!
